We all go through it, some worse than others, but it is a vital part of using CandyLipz!
The 10 Day Conditioning Period is a guide to help your lips become conditioned to using your CandyLipz lip plumper.
Your lips are not naturally used to the cupping sensation, so most users will likely experience some hickey like marks, exactly the same as you get from Chinese cupping (if you've ever had it done you will know). These marks will vary from person to person. Some lucky users do not get any marks at all, some get only light marks and some people experience very dark cupping marks. This can be due to different skin types, different degrees of health, or wether you are normally prone to bruising easily or not.
We have found that as long as users follow the directions correctly and do not go crazy with it during the first few weeks (yes, I know it's exciting to finally have full lips, but overusing the product during this time, is a sure fire way to get severe bruising), they generally have very mild marks, or none at all.
Like with any product, if you misuse it, you may get a bad reaction! Take into account this story HERE that made headlines around the world. An Australian woman, Brittney Forster, purchased CandyLipz and tried it out for the FIRST time with a group of friends. She left the device on for TWO MINUTES!!!! This is WHY she had such a bad reaction. CandyLipz is NOT meant to stay on your lips for more than 30 seconds to ONE minute for the first time! Furthermore, she also used a Jelly Mouth Cushion, which is NOT recommended for use during the 10 Day Conditioning Period, because it increases suction and will make cupping marks much more severe on unconditioned skin! The 'after' photo shows her wearing a red lip gloss on her plumped lips. This is NOT bloodied lips from the device!
The media have portrayed this badly and made CandyLipz look like a dangerous device, which is entirely untrue. The only danger here is misuse by the user. Candylipz is the ONLY lip plumping device in the world that has been through clinical trials and proved to be 100% safe and effective.
Many people prefer to start with applying the pump for 30 seconds at a time, to see how their body reacts to it. After that, you can assess wether you should leave it on for 1 minute, or continue doing 30 second increments.
In the instruction leaflet, I think some people get confused where it says... 'Day 1: Do 4 minutes total with 1 minute duration and 1 minute break in between.' This does NOT mean keep the device on your lips for 4 minutes straight. This simply means, 1 minute on, one minute off, 1 minute on, 1 minute off, 1 minute on, 1 minute off and finally, 1 more minute on and then do not use the device for another 2 days to allow your lips to rest. As mentioned earlier, you may prefer to only leave on for 30 seconds. It is a matter of experimenting to see what works best for your body! Everyone is different. If you are unsure, please email us and we are more than happy to help you!
We highly recommend you purchase our Bruise-Be-Gone oil blend for use during the conditioning period. The blend is specifically formulated to help with bruising. You can apply and massage into the effected area as often as needed. It is made from 100% certified organic ingredients and is highly nourishing for your skin. It can be safely used on bruises for the whole family!
When our advice is followed, it is possible to get rid of the cupping marks within 24 hours. There are foods you can eat that aid the healing process and aid you during your Recovery Period.
If you are someone who does bruise easily, you may be best to begin your 10 Day Conditioning Period on a Friday afternoon/evening and then you have a few days over the weekend to get rid of the bruising - if you get any. If you have an important event to attend, it is not recommend to begin your conditioning right before this. If you are planning for a big event (e.g.. wedding), we highly recommend that you start using your CandyLipz at least 2 - 3 weeks before the event to allow your skin and lips to become used to the device.
Cupping marks can easily be covered with a good concealer anyway, so it is not usually a problem for many users.
I hope this entry has helped reassure anyone who has been put off by CandyLipz, due to the article we mentioned at the start of this post, that CandyLipz is indeed very safe to use.
