Dry Skin & Lips? Try Some Natural Manuka Products!

Are you experiencing drier lips than usual? Here are some tips that may help you!

Now, I will start by saying that this is my personal experience, but what I do, has helped me dramatically.

When I first started using CandyLipz, I found my lips were feeling much drier than they usually would. I think it was because my lips were not lubricated before plumping them.

For me, I found that putting some moisturiser on my lips before I plumped them, really helped, but I think it was actually the TYPE of moisturiser I use, that gave me such wonderful results.

I don't use your common skincare products, I steer clear of anything that is full of chemicals.  When you are putting something on your skin that will be absorbed into your body within seconds, you want to make sure that it is going to be something nourishing for your skin and body.

Have you read the ingredients on your skin care packages? So many chemicals are added into them, and they just aren't necessary! Would you eat those ingredients? No, then why would you let them absorb into your skin?

Anyway, I'm sure you get the picture!

I use a moisturiser that is made by local honey farm, Pure Peninsula Honey. The product is called 'Manuka Moisturiser' and it is packed full of naturally hydrating ingredients. It is THE best skincare product I have ever used. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and amazing.
I put some of this on my lips each time before I use my CandyLipz pump. I also find that it helps me get a really good grip and I get more suction when I apply it first.

I also use a lip balm from the same place, it is called 'Manuka Lip Balm' and it is also amazing. My lips and skin have not felt better since using these products. I highly recommend them.

I feel it is due to the fact Manuka honey helps retain moisture, is why I've had such great results using this.

Another tip to help you, is to make sure you are well hydrated! Drink lots of water. If you don't like plain water, check out my other blog entries for some natural alternatives to make your plain water more exciting!

You can purchase products online from the Pure Peninsula Honey website. The products are really affordable and are amazing for your skin. This is not a paid endorsement, I just adore their products and want more people to know how wonderful they are. Plus, it is rewarding to support small Australian businesses!

If you are not familiar with the benefits of Manuka honey, I will list a few here for you! Prepare to be amazed!

Helps skin retain moisture.
Manuka honey is a natural humectant, drawing moisture into the skin. This hydration helps to further enhance the skin’s elasticity and cell regeneration, as well as promote healing.

Anti-aging.
MG has been shown to increase collagen cross-linking, promoting the structural growth of collagen in skin cells. And since amino acids are the building blacks of collagen, they also protect collagen. Healthy collagen means healthy, firm, youthful-looking skin.

Skin-clearing.
Manuka honey works wonders for blemished skin because of its aforementioned natural antibacterial properties. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory, so soothes inflamed skin while healing blemishes. It also helps balance the skin’s pH and contains amino acids which slough away dead skin cells, helping to keep pores clear. In other words: this sticky-sweet substance is your problem skin’s best friend (or worst enemy, depending on which way you want to look at it).

There are MANY more wonderful qualities that Manuka honey has, such as..

Benefits
- Antimicrobial and biologically active qualities.
- Humectant, helping to maintain moisture in the skin.

Scientifically and medical proven to:
- Accelerate skin healing
- Remove harmful bacteria and sterilise infections
- Stimulate new healthy skin growth
- Lower incidence of disfiguring scars including acne scars

Extensive research on the bioactive components of honey confirms it as a respectable therapeutic agent. The reasons Manuka Honey is particularly good as a wound healer, specifically on acne, is due to the following:

- Anti-bacterial.
- Honey provides a protective barrier which prevent cross-infection.
- Honey draws fluid out from the tissue & creases a moist, optimum healing environment.
- Epithelial cells grow level with the skin surface, resulting in no pitting or scarring.
- Creates ‘drainage’ away from the infection removing bacterial contaminants.
- Natural lactic acid within the honey, together with natural hydrogen perioxide – helps to stimulate new cell repair and growth.
- Strong anti-inflammatory.
- Strong anti-oxidant to help fight free radical damage.
